Affiliation with the University of Washington School of Dentistry
Family Health Centers (FHC) provides high quality health care services to our community. In addition, one of the fundamental activities of FHC is to support and contribute to the educational mission of the University of Washington School of Dentistry.
Indeed, FHC has had a long-standing affiliation and an active, ongoing relationship with the University of Washington School of Dentistry (UWSOD) through the Regional Initiatives in Dental Education (RIDE) program since 2011. The goal of RIDE is to support the education of UW dentists in providing excellent dental care in rural settings. This program also aims to increase the number of dental professional graduates who will choose to practice within rural and underserved communities in Washington.

FHC is proud to be a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site. We promise to serve all patients, offer discounted fees to patients who qualify, not deny services based on a person’s race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or ability to pay.
We accept most major insurances including Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Medicare.
Location
Family Health Centers is located in North Central Washington’s Okanogan County. Located halfway between the metropolitan areas of Seattle and Spokane, Okanogan County encompasses nearly 5,300 square miles of pristine, natural beauty. Larger than several states, Okanogan County is bordered on the north by Canada, on the south and east by the Columbia River Basin and the west by the North Cascade Mountains.
History
Family Health Centers was incorporated in 1985 and is now the primary healthcare system devoted to Okanogan County.
The clinic grew from its humble beginnings treating farm workers in the orchards with one doctor and support staff, to six medical sites in Omak, Brewster, Bridgeport, Tonasket and Twisp and four dental sites in Okanogan, Brewster, Bridgeport and Oroville that together serve the entire county.
Today, FHC is a comprehensive health care system offering primary medical and dental care, orthodontic care, pharmacy, WIC, and integrated behavioral health and other services to 40% of the county’s population. Responding to patient interests, FHC has added Naturopath physicians, broadening our clinical expertise for Whole Person Care.
Nonprofit
FHC is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization and does accept donations to help better serve the underserved. To inquire about making a donation please contact the Finance department.
